About This Prototype This HTML/JavaScript prototype was designed to provide McAfee a web-based virus scanning application that would only detect, but not clean or remove, known computer viruses. The user interface is a representation of VirusScan Online (VSO), McAfee's flagship anti-virus subscription service. The goal of FreeScan is to entice visitors to www.mcafee.com to try FreeScan, experience a VSO-like manual scan experience, and then upsell VSO once a virus is detected. Please Note: This example DOES NOT detect, remove, or protect your computer from computer viruses. This is only a UI prototype.
