About This Prototype This HTML/JavaScript prototype was designed to illustrate the desired functionality, usability model, and user behaviors for an anti-virus recovery tool. The final application was developed by McAfee as a Win32 application that detects and removes the Klez virus from a computer's local hard-drives. Please Note: This example DOES NOT detect, remove, or protect your computer from the Klez virus. About Klez The W32/Klez.h@MM variant is a destructive mass-mailing worm that attempts to send itself to email addresses found on the infected system. Once the virus is run, it also attempts to turn off anti-virus protection on the system, thereby compromising security.
